Introducing the Collaborative

When I started looking for an office closer to home and my daily life, I quickly realized what felt non-negotiable to me:

  • A space that is explicitly and unapologetically welcoming for BIPOC, LGBTQ+, fat, disabled and other folks who are routinely marginalized and excluded from public and private places.

  • An accessible building with ADA push button for the main entrance, elevator, and hallways that accommodate as many people and mobility devices as possible.

  • A sense of community with coworkers: after three years of primarily working remotely, I am ready to create a friendly and collaborative place of work with other therapists who are aligned in terms of values.

  • A spot in the office where I and the other therapists can eat lunch away from our desks, consult, or just get a change of scenery while working on documentation or administrative tasks. Taking care of ourselves lets us show up in the best way with our clients <3

Cute pup sits in a cardboard moving box - Unfortunately, we won’t have any dogs in the office, but we will be providing accessible therapy and making the space welcoming for all.

I feel so grateful to have found this office suite in a building that’s taken care of and well-maintained and even more so to have connected with these three other women:

Terri Buysse, PhD is a psychologist certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International, with so much experience working with women, birthing parents, and non-birthing parents around perinatal mood and anxiety complications, trauma, and parenting challenges. Terri also offers professional consultation on perinatal mental health, trauma, EMDR, and parenting. Her practice is Mothering Voice Psychological Services.

Monica Edenholm, LMFTA, PA-C worked as a Certified Physician Assistant before obtaining another graduate degree in marriage and family therapy. She provided couples and family therapy last year with CH Counseling Services and is excited to start her own practice, Purpose & Passion, offering relationship and family therapy. She will be accepting new clients soon!

Jennifer Wootsick, LICSW is an infant and early childhood mental health specialist who’s been providing mental health services to caregivers and their children from birth to five years old through a social justice lens. She’ll be offering therapy for expecting folks, caregivers, and families in her private practice soon! Jennifer also runs Circle of Security groups — an incredible group to support parents/caregivers and kiddos forming secure attachments — and has great ideas for how to offer these groups in our new space! More info about her practice here.

And I’m Laurie Ganberg, LICSW, also certified in perinatal mental health through PSI. I work with individual adults of all genders through life transitions related to pregnancy, birth, postpartum and parenting. I especially love working with clients in larger bodies or who are fat and dealing with weight stigma, anti-fat bias, Body Trust®, and Health at Every Size®. I also supervise and offer groups, consultations and trainings around perinatal mental health, weight stigma, and fat liberation. More info about my practice here.

We’ll have a few spots for part-time subletters coming up soon, so if you’re interested in joining the Collaborative, please get in touch!

And as soon as we’ve moved in, we’ll be sharing photos of the actual space with y’all!
